Wish to Perform in the Talent Show?

Sign up by this Friday, February 2nd

All students are welcome to participate. Interested performers must sign up by THIS Friday! This year’s Talent Show will be on Friday, February 23rd: 5pm dinner, 5:30pm showtime. Click here for more information and to sign up!

 

Next Week is the Book Fair!

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to Sunset February 5th-9th! Class visit info will be in the Wednesday folders and can also be seen on the volunteer sign up link.

We need VOLUNTEERS to make the Book Fair a great success! Please sign up with a friend today.

 

Lunar New Year Dinner and Celebration

Join us! Thursday, February 8th

6:00pm: PTA-hosted dinner
6:30pm: PTA Meeting and School Site Council presentation and survey
7:00pm: An interactive program with the Panda KungFu Center
6-8pm: Book Fair is open in the Library.

Don’t forget to please RSVP for dinner.

Take a Look: Open PTA Positions

We have some PTA positions opening up next school year. Come and be more involved! Please e-mail Keith Inouye or Jen Jung at president@sunset-pta.org if interested or with any questions.

VP of Programs

The VP of Programs mainly oversees Sunset’s consultants.
Time Commitment: Mostly at beginning and end of school year.
Duties: Oversees the STEAM, Visual Arts and Outdoor Science consultants, library committee, teacher mini-grants, science sacks,  and PTA after-school programs. Check in with consultants and committee chairs periodically via e-mail.

After-school Enrichment Coordinator

Time Commitment: Mostly via e-mails and phone calls. Primarily the couple months before a new semester begins.
Duties: Find the best programs to bring in as an after-school class; ensure vendor-district paperwork is completed; coordinate logistics of classroom. Check in with provider during the semester as needed via e-mail.

Our gardens now look beautiful thanks to all the families that came to Garden Day! We appreciate your time and muscle power. Special shoutout to Megan O’Neill, Garden Chair, Ms. Kyla as well as Trung Trieu, Karen Trieu, Tori Beiber and Catherine Tai for organizing the lunch!
