The Yearbooks are in!

Yearbooks are going home this week! Big Thanks to all the parents and teachers who shared their brilliant photography skills, especially Judy Chow, Lisa D’Acquisto, Eugene Llamera, Teddy Long, Mary Lendaris, Mari Tuominen, Tatiana Ciudac, and Ms. Ruth and Mr. Charlie, along with all the amazing paraprofessionals of Rooms 102 and A1. Special thanks to Jeff Chen, Teddy Long, Linda McCusker, Tori Bieber, Dee Dee Hunt and Eugene Llamera, who spent countless hours carefully arranging this year’s memories to fit in 50 pages. You guys are awesome!

PTA Communication Tools:

We’d love your feedback!

The PTA is moving away from using Yahoo! Groups next year. As we look for better ways to communicate within our school community, we’ll explore options such as Google Groups. We’re seeking a few parents to give us feedback. If you’d like to be involved, please e-mail our incoming Communications Chair, Eva Reffell, at

There will be No School on Monday, May 28, 2018 in observance of Memorial Day. Enjoy your 3-day weekend!

 This Week’s Shout-outs

Your help is much appreciated!

A shout out to all the volunteers who prepped the passports, helped with the activities and helped clean up all the fun on Water Day! A big Thanks to Ms. Paping, Ms. Lam and Mr. Ma for all their work organizing a fantastic day!

Superstar parent Mari Tuominen deserves our gratitude for continuing her deep involvement with the PTA and the school. As past president, we are so grateful for her generosity in sharing her time and knowledge. In her role as VP Programs, many thanks to her and her team for enriching the education our students receive.

A big THANK YOU to Eva Refell for chairing the Mini Grants Committee this year. Amy Vieira and Sandra Wong stepped up to be a part of the approvals committee. This committee allows teachers to request classroom and grade-level grants from the PTA!

A Shout Out to Karina Reese for organizing all the amazing After School Enrichment Programs that Sunset offers! This takes a lot of behind-the-scenes coordination to get all the programs, such as, Mandarin, Tree Frog Treks and Drama, in place for our students.

Hooray for Poppy Gilman for all her time in the library helping Ms. Lam keep the library organized!

Our Hallway Art and Garden Totem Poles look amazing thanks to Ms. Ingrid! Keeping the gardens blooming is in large part to Ms. Kyla – thank you! And thanks to Ms. Megan, the students’ education is well-rounded with STEAM projects!
