Rescheduled PTA Meeting & Middle School Panel

Thursday, December 13th, from 5:00-6:30pm

Please note change in schedule:

5:00-6:00pm APG Middle School Panel
6:00-6:30pm PTA Meeting with childcare provided.

Panel and Meeting will be held in the library. Snacks will be provided.

The Middle School Panel has kindly agreed to reschedule their appearance as well! The panel will comprise of former Sunset students and a current AP Giannini teacher. Parents and students are welcome to the Panel discussion. The panel will be moderated by Heidi Smoot, former APG PTSA and Sunset PTA President.

At the PTA meeting, our main agenda item will be discussing and voting on the play yard. Due to complications with the original play structure plan, the PTA board, with support from Principal Lee and the teachers, would like to discuss and vote on adding turf to the play yard. We will also be voting to increase funds for the Play Yard, Hospitality and School Beautification budgets.

Please ParentSquare message “Sunset PTA” or email with questions or comments. Board members will be at today’s Coffee Chat so come talk to us then as well.

Can You Help With Star Students on Mondays?

Principal Lee needs one parent volunteer to assist with the Star Student prizes every Monday during morning announcements. Please see Ms. Anna if you would be available to help!

Help With Tomorrow’s School Tour

Please join us in welcoming prospective parents after the morning bell rings. Just meet in the lounge outside the library and put on a name tag.  The sign-in and welcome lasts for about 15 minutes.  If you have the time, we’d love for volunteers to help stay for the tour to answer questions.  Hope to see you there!

Come See the Sunset Elementary Chorus

We have the opportunity to hear our Sunset Chorus perform three different times this month:

On Union Square on Friday, December 7th at roughly 10:00am

At the 5th Annual Singing for Toys Concert, “Let’s Make it Shine,”  at the Scottish Rite Auditorium on Tuesday, December 11th at 6:30-8:30pm.  (This concert benefits the SF Firefighters Toy Program. The price of admission is an unwrapped new toy. Sunset’s chorus will share the stage with SF Glee Kids, the Commodore Sloat Elementary Chorus, and special guests, Scales of the City. )

At the Fairmont Hotel on December 12th at 11:45am

SF Glee Kids is Accepting Applications

SF Glee Kids is a choral ensemble sponsored by the San Francisco Unified School District, which was started in 2013 by Sunset’s own Mr. Aluk. If you’ve got an interested singer in grades 4-7 at home, let them know that they can apply.

See the flyer for more information.

BRANDON Battaglia and CHRIS Callarman deserve our gratitude this week for their time, insight and expertise with regards to sound and stage improvements.
