Reminder – Enrollment Application for 2019-2020 School Year
Enrollment applications for current 5th grade students and new incoming Kindergarten
siblings must be submitted by Friday, January 11, 2019 to Sunset School office or to
EPC at 555 Franklin.

Announcing this spring’s After School Enrichment classes!

Registration begins Friday, January 11th at 9am.

We will be opening registration for our fee-based After School Enrichment classes this Friday, January 11th at 9am. Classes will begin the week of January 22nd and go through May 24th. Registration is on a first come, first serve basis until classes are full.  

We will continue to offer Mandarin, Drama, Spanish, Tinkering, Chess, and Tree Frog Treks.

Help with our final school tour of the year

Our last school tour is tomorrow, Thursday, January 10th!  Please join us in welcoming prospective parents in the lounge area outside the library after the morning bell rings.  The tour runs from 9:00-10:30am, and you’re welcome to stay as little or as long as you’d like.



Join us for Movie Night featuring Incredibles 2!

Friday, January 11th, 2019 (5:30pm dinner • 6:00pm movie)

Elastigirl and her family of superheroes is back! Bring your blanket and come join the fun. (Students must be accompanied by an adult. )

There will be no admission fee, but we will be selling pizza, cuties, lemonade, popcorn, baked goodies, jello, fruit cups and other snacks.  Please RSVP for the $6 dinner plate to help ensure we have enough food and drink for all. Sign up if you can bring something to sell at the Snack Bar or if you can help the night of.

Proceeds from the dinner and snack sales will go towards next year’s 4th grade overnight science trip.

Shop at Sloat Garden Center

Another Sloat Garden Center‘s Growing Up Green week begins this Friday, January 11th and runs through Sunday, January 20th. Shop for any of your plant and garden needs while earning gift cards for our school. Just mention Sunset Elementary at checkout.

The Next “4 Fun Ways to School” Day will be January 17th!

Sunset is one of many schools all over San Francisco participating in monthly 4 Fun Ways to School” days to encourage families to walk, roll, bike, carpool or take transit to school. These events promote health and physical fitness for your family and help your students get off to a great start in the morning and meet other Sunset families in your neighborhood!We will meet at the northeast corner of Kirkham & 37th Avenue at 8:25 sharp. You may also choose your own route. Please remember to cross streets safely, and have fun!




Get ready for our 11th Annual Talent Show!

Friday, February 22nd (5:00pm Dinner • 5:30-8:30pm Show)

Dust off your dancing shoes, piano skills, comedy routines or any talents that you have! It’s almost time for Sunset’s 11th Annual Talent Show. This year’s student Talent Show will be on Friday, February 22nd at 5:30pm.  A hard copy of this flyerwill be going home in today’s blue folders. Sign up here by February 1st.
