Annual Sunset Gala and Auction

Our Annual Sunset Gala is coming up on Saturday, November 5, 2022! Don your finest black and white attire and book your sitters for a night of dinner, dancing, cocktails, bidding, and Sunset community love.

The Sunset Gala is one of three major fundraisers for our school. It is an adults-only event and is a chance for parents, teachers, staff, and friends of Sunset to gather as a community, dress up and have fun, all while raising money for our amazing school!

An event like this needs many hands to be successful! There are many ways to help out – both big and small.

Silent / Live Auction
A major component of the Sunset Gala is our Silent and Live Auction. The Silent Auction starts before the Gala date and is held online for anyone to participate. The Live Auction is held during the Gala.

Committee:
We are in need of volunteers to help solicit and procure items for the auctions. It’s an easy task to do at home whenever you have a bit of spare time. Information about how businesses can donate or sponsor the event have already been put together in our Auction Packet and Sponsorship Packet. We just need help getting the requests out! Please contact Terry Lew at gala@sunset-pta.org if you would like to help out and to get access to our donor database.

Small business owners:
If you own a business and can donate gift cards, gift baskets, goods, or professional services to the Auction, please fill out our Auction Packet.

There are also opportunities to sponsor the event and market your business to our Sunset community! More information about sponsorship levels and rewards can be found in our Sponsorship Packet. Sponsorships range from $250 to $1,000. If you have friends or family who are small business owners, be sure to reach out to them!

Auction item donations:
A successful auction needs many items, in a wide range of pricing. Please consider donating items to our auction, such as gift cards to local businesses and restaurants, wine, framed art, sports tickets, theater and concert tickets, vacation stays, membership guest passes, and any other items you think our Sunset community would be interested in. A big thank you to those who have already donated!

Count Me In (CMI) donations:
We have a Count-Me-In (CMI) auction category for our annual Sunset Gala & Auction. These donations help build and strengthen our community and draw upon your talents, resources and interests. CMI events or experiences are hosted by a Sunset family, a group of families or staff. You set the date, time, price and number of spots available. You can choose to have your event only for adults, kids or families. This is a wonderful opportunity to have fun with members of our school community. You can find the CMI form here.

Teacher Features
Teachers and staff - the Sunset students would love to share in some memorable experiences with you! In the past, teachers and staff would donate experiences to the auction, either individually or at a grade level. Past examples include an end-of-the-year bonfire, an arts and crafts afternoon, an afternoon movie with hot cocoa and crafts, mini golfing, a hangout at Ocean Beach, picnic lunch at Fort Funston, garden consultation, beach soccer game, and dinner and dessert at a teacher's house. You can find the Teacher Features form here.
